Cafe Racer

Greenade – Café Racer

Up next for analysis by the team at Dream Lounge Cannabis is a display table favourite over the past few months and also a recent addition to our pre-roll menu. Café Racer is a strain created by breeding the high-THC Girl Scout Cookies and OG Kush with the mellower effects of Grandaddy Purple. This results in a bright green nugs with large calyxes. Our first smell leans more towards the girl scout cookies end of the spectrum but found the overall experience to be a mix of mellow, uplifting and energetic.

Café Racer by Verte West was grown on Vancouver Island in the Cowichan Valley in soil, hand trimmed and then cured to perfection before being packaged in a very sleek black plastic pouch for the 3.5g or a classic doob tube for the pre-roll. We found this strain to be a great sidekick for afternoon adventures due to it’s uplifting nature whilst it’s THC and terpene percentage still strong enough to give you an energetic, smooth buzz.

Look

Café Racer comes packaged by Greenade in a matte black plastic pouch. Inside the package we were greeted with 1 large nug, and 3 medium sized nugs that all combined to a nice 3.5g package. The buds are a light green with brown/orange hues on the calyxes that are also covered in trichomes and featuring a nice, tailored trim job.

Smell

Upon first open you smell a combination of earth, citrus and pine that combines with nutty spice to produce something that we found explored the savoury end of the spectrum very nicely. We also found this strain paired greatly with the spring sunshine we’ve had lately in Revelstoke, BC and will undoubtedly be a pick for many of summers looming adventures.

Taste

With citrusy, earthy spice making up the majority of the inhale, it’s the exhale that is really nice. What was once a mix of cookies and citrus gives way to a lingering savory experience reminiscent of peanut butter, pie crust and earth. We found the taste to linger in a good way and the dominant terpenes of Alpha Pinene, Myrcene, Caryophylene and Farnesene all combine to create a taste profile that is far more developed than your average sativa and well worth a try for even the most experienced consumer.

Experience

A Sativa dominant strain by nature, we found the high of Café Racer to lean towards the hybrid end of the spectrum and suitable for users at all ends of the spectrum. The high was cerebral, creative and energising in a stylish kind of way that perhaps explains the name “Café Racer”. The combined strains of OG Kush, Grandaddy Purple and Girl Scout Cookies make sure that is strong, relaxing and silly whilst the overall attention to detail during both the grow and packaging process make it one of our top picks for Sativas in 3.5g, we would also recommend Café Racer to people seeking out a hybrid adventure or simply interested in trying something a little different.

Now available in 3.5g, and 3x0.5g pre-rolls at Dream Lounge Cannabis in Revelstoke, BC.
